Our hearts are heavy to announce that Lottie, Fatema Zainab, Ellie and Sam were sentenced today with a terrorist connection as an aggravating factor. (They were not charged with or convicted of a terrorism offence after two separate trials by two juries).
The sentences for each of them are as follows:
- Lottie: 6 years (4 years and 320 days custodial)
- Ellie: 6 years (4 years and 320 days custodial)
- Fatema Zainab: 5 years and 8 months (4 years and 200 days custodial)
- Sam: 8 years and 8 months
Due to their time on bail Lottie, Ellie and Fatema Zainab had a reduction of 45 days on their sentence.
Upon release, the defendants will be classified as terrorists and will be required to notify the police of any new device, bank account, email address or car registration for up to 15 years.
Any mistake they make or a failure to comply could result in them being sent back to prison.
